(ECNS)-- A 13-year-old boy travelling with his father was banned from boarding a flight for his "weird behavior" on Tuesday.
The man surnamed Cui and his son should have flown from Xinzheng International Airport in Henan Province to Zhuhai of Guangdong Province.
Cui was born in Xuchang, Henan Province and is doing business in Zhuhai all year. A week ago, he took his son back to Henan to visit his parents and was banned from boarding on the way back to Zhuhai.
The Airline officer from Yangtze River Airlines claimed that Cui's son kept walking around and shouting before boarding. A staff member asked them to wait while boarding but his son never calmed down.
Cui said his son has Autism and only talks to his family. He behaves quite different from others but this does not mean that he cannot take a plane.
"We were banned for talking loudly. My son does not have a mental disease, and he has no intension to hurt others," Cui said.
They waited in the airport for 5 hours and were asked to show a certificate from a hospital to allow them to get on the plane. But he did not have it.
A staff member from Yangtze River Express Airlines Co., Ltd. said that the decision was made for the sake of other passengers' safety and that the ban was decided in line with the CCAR—271TR—R1.
The staff member also said they had returned the flight and bus ticket money from Zhengzhou to Xuchang to Cui.
