(ECNS) -- Several passengers were injured as China Eastern Flight MU777 en route from China's Kunming to Sydney encountered severe turbulence, according to CCTV news.
China Eastern Airlines later said the plane suddenly encountered clear-air turbulence while descending from a 20,000 feet height, causing five passengers and three crew members to feel sick.
The plane landed safely in Sydney at 14:07 local time and medical services were provided for passengers immediately, the company said.
It again reminded passengers to fasten their seat belts during flights.
