(ECNS) -- Black bears attacked a car at Badaling Safari World in Beijing Sunday afternoon, causing no injuries, a park staff member surnamed Cao confirmed Tuesday.
Photos posted online showed two bears leaning against the right side of a white car in the park.
A witness surnamed Wang said she saw both windows on the right side of the vehicle open a crack, which might have caught the attention of one of the bears. It first approached the right front window, and then came to the rear and thrust its paws into the car in an attempt to reach a child inside.
The attack caused the window to open wider and more bears arrived. It took one or two minutes before workers rushed to rescue the occupants, she said.
Cao said preliminary investigations indicated the child, unaware of potential danger, opened the window. He urged tourists to pay close attention to safety and especially take good care of young children.
Last summer, an old woman was killed and her daughter seriously injured by tigers after they got out of their car while touring the safari park.
