(ECNS) -- Chinese property magnate Wang Jianlin and his son Wang Sisong remain the richest people on the Chinese mainland with 179.4 billion yuan ($25.3 billion), followed by Jack Ma of Alibaba and Wang Wei of SF Express, according to the Richest 500 report by monthly magazine New Fortune.
The report showed that seven out of the 10 richest in 2007 were from the real estate sector, while now five among them thrive in the TMT (telecommunications, media, and technology) industry. Real estate tycoons like Wang Jianlin and Xu Zhiqiang are transforming their business focus too. Yang Huiyan, of property developer Country Garden Holdings, had her wealth increase by 1 billion yuan compared with 10 years ago.
SF's Wang Wei rose to the third spot as his wealth grew by 401.5 percent in one year to reach 150.4 billion yuan thanks to the firm's listing, replacing Pony Ma Huateng of Tencent, who is now in fourth place.
Bosses behind other express delivery companies, including founder of YTO Express Yu Huijiao and chairman of Yunda Holding Nie Tengyun, also reported increased wealth. But the wealth of Chen Dejun and his sister Chen Xiaoying, both of STO Express, decreased by nearly 30 percent as the company's share prices dropped.
The most noticeable change, Jia Yueting, the co-founder and head of LeEco, saw his wealth shrink by 29.5 billion yuan and his place drop from ninth to 34th this year.
The total wealth of the 500 richest people in China amounted to 7.89 trillion yuan.
Zhou Qunfei, the chairwoman of a Chinese touchscreen glass supplier firm with clients including Apple and Samsung, has been crowned China's richest woman, with wealth of 49.7 billion yuan.
