(ECNS) -- A wild giant panda has been spotted in a forest at the Wawu Mountain Nature Reserve in Southwestern China's Sichuan Province.
A farmer who works as a forest ranger took two photos of the giant panda, showing it sleeping on a tree and then on the move, on Monday.
Yang Chun, the director of the nature reserve, said the panda was thought to be looking for fresh bamboo shoots.
The nature reserve was established primarily for the protection of giant pandas and the forest, where there are 43 animal species under state protection and 3,500 plant species. The reserve is also regarded as a museum for animals and plants.
