(ECNS) - An 8,900-ton bridge in two parts was successfully rotated to position above the Tianjin-Baoding railway in Xiongxian County, part of construction related to the Xiongan New Area in Hebei Province.
It took 73 minutes, from 0:07 to 01:20 am on Tuesday, to complete the massive maneuver, causing no impact on the busy railway underneath.
The new bridge with a span of 80 meters is part of the Beijing-Xiongan Intercity Railway under construction.
In April 2017, China announced the establishment of the Xiongan New Area about 100 km southwest of Beijing that spans three counties in Hebei Province.
The successful rotation of the bridge into place ensures smooth progress is underway on construction of the new high-speed railway.
