(ECNS) -- The new energy arm of Guangzhou-based carmaker GAC Group has unveiled the first luxury electric SUV model with the latest autonomous driving technology.
The Aion LX has a range of 650 km under New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) standards, the highest in the world.
The electric SUV is equipped with Level 3 autonomous driving assistance, an innovative, lighter auto frame, and an indigenous intelligent connectivity system, called ADiGO. The vehicle also makes full use of cloud and big data platforms.
Insiders say the Aion LX represents a milestone in China’s automating sector due to its application of smart technologies and will deliver a top-notch driving experience.
GAC Group said it has invested 45 billion yuan ($6.3 billion) in the development of an industrial park for new energy cars and accelerated efforts to make technology breakthroughs and improve innovation through the application of 5G and artificial intelligence.
