(ECNS)--French doctor Philippe Klein has chosen to stay in Wuhan, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus outbreak, to care for patients.
Klein, a general practitioner at the international clinic affiliated with a public hospital, has offered medical services for expats in the city since the outbreak. For patients' sake, he prefers to drive to the homes of expats on appointment for consultation while wearing protective clothing.
When asked how many hours he works every day, he responded with “many hours,” saying his patients are scattered in the city’s three regions, Hanyang, Wuchang and Hankou.
Klein is certainly aware of the risk, and his determination to stay in the city, where he has been based for six years, comes from his sense of responsibility as well as professional requirements.
He said he is doing what he can to support the city and its residents.
Klein says he hopes for a champagne toast with his wife, who will be back from France when China conquers the virus.
