(ECNS) -- The Danxia Mountain scenic area in Guangdong Province will again open to the public from March 28, with a maximum visitor limit of 5,000 per day, its management committee announced Thursday.
The scenic spot has been closed since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in January.
Medical workers, military officers, police, and public security officers will be exempted from tickets till Dec. 31, 2020. Their family members will enjoy a 50 percent discount.
Visitors need to reserve tickets online in advance and scan a QR code to finalize their purchase when arriving at the scenic spot.
Public areas, including ticket halls, checking channels, rest areas, and sightseeing cars will be disinfected each day to ensure safety and reduce the risk of cross-infection, the committee said.
Scenic spots nationwide are reopening to the public, with the novel coronavirus being gradually contained across the country.
Danxia Mountain is a UNESCO geopark in Shaoguan, Guangdong Province. A landscape featuring reddish sandstone, it is the original name source of the Danxia landform.
So far, over 1,200 Danxia landforms have been discovered across the world.
