(ECNS) -- A direct China-Europe freight train linking Guangzhou in Guangdong Province and Odessa, the fourth largest city in Ukraine, was launched Saturday from Dalang Railway Station, Baiyun District.
It will leave China via the Erenhot port and reach its destination after a journey of 8,408 kilometers about twenty-five days later .
It is the first direct China-Europe freight linking south China and Ukraine and also the first launched by China to Odessa.
As the 54th China-Europe freight train departing Dalang Station in Guangzhou, it has carried 100 containers of tea leaves, mowers and rice cookers, or about 646 tons in total with a value of 10,590,000 yuan (about $1.67 million).
The China-Europe freight train features high efficiency, widespread routes and all-whether transport services. It has become an essential logistics channel to ensure China-Europe trade and a smooth international supply chain especially since the outbreak of COVID-19.
