(ECNS) -- Saihanba, located in north China’s Hebei Province, was a beautiful land and known as Mulan Paddock, a hunting locale for imperial families during the Qing Dynasty (1644–1912). At the end of the Qing Dynasty, it deteriorated into a treeless, sandy wasteland amid years of warfare.
However, in the past six decades, three generations of local staff have created a miracle here and turned this wasteland into a vast forest.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has always kept Saihanba in his mind. He put forward the Saihanba Spirit for the first time in 2017.
He came to visit the Saihanba mechanized forest farm and local staff in August 2021 and spoke highly of generations of commitment and dedication displayed by "Saihanba people."
