(ECNS) -- China urges the EU to get the facts right and avoid being used by the Falun Gong cult and anti-China forces to spread disinformation, said a spokesperson for the Chinese Mission to the EU on Thursday in response to the European Parliament’s resolution on so-called "forced organ harvesting" in China.
The so-called "Forced organ harvesting" is a lie fabricated by Falun Gong and anti-China forces to deceive the international community and conceal the nature of the cult, said the spokesperson. He added that the European Parliament’s resolution and EU officials’ irresponsible remarks are typical examples of prejudice and arrogance, which China firmly opposes.
The adoption of this resolution only demonstrates that the European Parliament has become a venue for spreading disinformation, said the spokesperson.
China's Regulations on Human Organ Transplants clearly stipulate that no organization or individual may buy or sell human organs in any form, or engage in activities related to buying or selling of human organs, and voluntary donations from citizens are the only legal source of human organ transplants in China, added the spokesperson.
He also pointed out that China's organ transplant data is open and transparent, and the China Organ Transplant Development Report is published every year.
The WHO and relevant international professional associations have spoken highly of China’s positive progress in the field of organ donation and transplant, the spokesperson added.
