(ECNS) -- China’s talents in science and technology reached 112.341 million as of the end of 2020, according to the Research Report on Human Resource Development of Science and Technology in China (2020) released on Saturday.
The research report published by the National Academy of Innovation Strategy shows that the age of human resources in science and technology in China has remained young in the past 10 years with talents of 39 years old and below accounting for three quarters.
According to the report, China’s female human resources in science and technology are increasing rapidly and the gender ratio is gradually being balanced.
The development of China’s human resources in science and technology has four characteristics, said the report, which are, the amount of human resources in science and technology keeps growing, ranking first in the world for several years in a row; talents majored in science and technology are overwhelming in all disciplines, accounting for the highest proportion and increasing obviously; young and middle-aged talents are the main force; female human resources grow fast, accounting for 40.1 percent of the total in 2019 and the proportion is constantly rising.
The report also predicted that China’s human resources in science and technology will keep rising in total amount and continue to optimize in structure and to improve in quality in the future.
