(ECNS) -- The first nucleic acid industrial park in Shanghai is to start construction in mid-July at the Shanghai Hangzhou Bay Economic and Technological Development Park, with a planned area of three square kilometers, media reports said.
A total of 720 mu (48 hectares) pilot area will be built for the nucleic acid industries during the early phase, said media.
The biomedicine industry is an important pillar of Shanghai's strategic emerging industries and one of the three leading industries in Shanghai.
The establishment of industrial parks could help the nucleic acid drug innovation of the city.
