(ECNS) -- The first batch of 660 tourists who were stranded amid a new outbreak of COVID-19 in Haikou, south China’s Hainan Province, set off for their return journey on the early morning of Friday.
Five flights at the Meilan International Airport will take them to Guangzhou, Changsha, Shanghai and Nanjing.
Haikou reported no new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday.
The city has reported a total of 18 infections and two asymptomatic cases in the recent pandemic wave as of Thursday.
