(ECNS) -- The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has launched a mobile phone program that maps the distribution of COVID-19 cases in buildings.
Developed by a research team led by Professor Gary Chan Shueng-Han, it is the first app for COVID-19 prevention and control launched by a Hong Kong university.
Citizens can download the app to check for COVID-19 infection risks in buildings near them, said Chan.
The app displays infection density through a thermodynamic diagram. Densities of cases are marked by colors such as yellow, orange, and red, Chan added.
This app helps citizens stay aware of the latest pandemic situation so they can reduce the risk of infection when traveling, Chan said.
