(ECNS) -- A total of 204 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the first makeshift hospital in Sanya, south China’s Hainan, as of Tuesday.
The makeshift hospital for mild and asymptomatic cases has received 2,027 COVID-19 patients since its opening on Aug. 3.
According to Wang Chao, vice president of the hospital, 72 patients were discharged on Tuesday, ranging from two to 69 years old.
Data shows that patients have stayed in hospital for7.6 days on average, with the shortest hospitalization having been six days, said Wang.
Parents can accompany confirmed cases under six years after signing the informed consent form.
A 506-member team from Guangdong began to serve the makeshift hospital in batches since Aug. 9 to help with COVID-19 treatment.
Sanya has reported 3596 confirmed and 4497 asymptomatic COVID-19 cases in the latest outbreak from Aug. 1 to 15.
