(ECNS) -- China on Thursday set up a working group to advance talks on joining the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement (DEPA) after approval from the DEPA Joint Committee, the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced on Friday.
Next, China will carry out accession negotiations with member countries and strive to officially join DEPA as soon as possible, so as to make contributions to strengthening cooperation in digital economy, innovation, and sustainable development.
Initiated by New Zealand, Singapore, and Chile in May, 2019, and signed in June, 2020, DEPA is the world's first “digital only” regional trade agreement.
