(ECNS) -- Tongzhou, Beijing’s new administrative center, plans to build a metaverse demonstration zone along with over 30 “metaverse+” typical application scenario projects in next three years, according to local authorities.
Accordingly, Tongzhou will cultivate a complete metaverse industrial ecology including over 100 enterprises.
Based on key cultural tourism zones, including Zhangjiawan Design Town, and Taihu Performing Arts Town, the sub-center will transform and develop cultural IP resources, and build a metaverse-themed amusement park, establishing “metaverse+ cultural tourism” in next three years.
It will carry out global high-precision, three-dimensional urban modeling and moderately advance the layout of digital native intelligent infrastructure to promote smart offices and a “metaverse+ city”.
The action plan further aims to develop “metaverse+ consumption” that integrates characteristic 5G applications like a digital cloud MALL, cloud XR recreation space, and commercial data, alongside virtual livestreaming, promoting the integrated development of virtual reality and art-related consumption.
Moreover, it targets to create “metaverse+ education”, developing an online education mode both intelligent and interactive.
