(ECNS) -- The white chanterelle mushroom, a new species in China has been discovered in south China's Hainan Province and east China's Zhejiang Province, respectively.
Its cap surface is smooth and its edges wavy, with almost no obvious odor.
The discovery of the new species has a significant meaning for studying local ecological conservation and biological evolution, said Qi Xiangbin, a staff member of Tianmushan National Nature Reserve Administration in Zhejiang Province.
So far, studies on and understanding of this species are limited so he suggests people should not eat this mushroom to avoid an adverse reaction.
