(ECNS) -- Chinese computer scientist Wei Daozheng passed away in Beijing on Saturday at the age of 93, according to the Institute of Computing Technology (ICT) of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on Monday.
Wei Daozheng, a researcher with the ICT, is one of the first batch of scholars engaged in computational mathematics and computer applications in China.
He is also a pioneer in the field of the country’s computer-aided design and testing and fault-tolerant computing.
He had won the National Natural Science Award, the Outstanding Contribution Award for China’s Computer Industry over Past 60 Years and the Life-time Achievement Award granted by the China Computer Federation for his remarkable contribution to the development of China computing technology.
