(ECNS) -- Hong Kong Palace Museum on Monday announced that it has received a total of 1,145 donated collections from 12 well-known local collectors and artists in 2022.
These collections are rich in varieties, covering gold and silver ornaments, ceramics, bronze, stone carvings, ink paintings, embroidery, furniture, clocks and watches, and spanning 5,000 years.
These gifts show both the extraordinary artistic achievements from ancient times to the present of China and the profound cultural deposits of the Chinese nation for 5,000 years, as well as the evolution of techniques, and artistic and aesthetic styles in different periods.
Some of these collections have been on display on one of the opening exhibitions of the museum and the left will meet the public in 2023.
The first special exhibition displaying ancient gold ornaments in China will be held by the Hong Kong Palace Museum in February 2023 to discuss the role of gold in cultural and artistic exchanges among different communities in ancient Asia.
These precious cultural relics will be made good use of in research, publishing, cultural relics protection, youth education, cultural creation, international cooperation and other fields, said the museum.
