First super-large natural gas field with annual output of 50 bln cubic meters built in China

(ECNS) -- The annual output of natural gas in Changqing oilfield in northwest China hit 50.6 billion cubic meters on Tuesday, which means China has finished building its first super-large gas production area with annual output of 50 billion cubic meters.

As the largest natural gas production base in China, Changqing oilfield is able to serve hundreds of cities of large-and-medium size and alleviate the peak pressure of gas supply.

Changqing oilfield has built a record-breaking gas field capacity in 2022, with 2,338 gas wells put into production throughout the year and an increase of 31 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, ensuring its daily output to reach over 160 million cubic meters per day in order to meet the peak needs of gas in this winter and next spring.
