(ECNS) -- The high-speed railway connecting the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will begin its test run from Jan. 3, 2023, said Cheung Chi-keung, head of cross-border operations of Hong Kong’s MTR Corporation, on Friday.
According to Cheung, the MTR Corporation is preparing to resume railway stations linked with the Chinese mainland. Tickets will be sold before Jan. 3 according to the amount of passengers who need to enter the Chinese mainland.
Chief Executive of Hong Kong John Lee Ka-chiu has said he hopes the border could reopen in mid-January.
