(ECNS) -- A pregnant woman was successfully rescued from the ruins of an 8-story collapsed building in Türkiye by the concerted effort of Chinese and Turkish rescue teams early Thursday.
This is the first survivor that the Chinese rescue team saved since it participated in the rescue operations in Türkiye.
The death toll has climbed to above 15,000 in Türkiye and Syria as of Thursday morning after a powerful magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck the two countries on Monday, official data showed.
A total of 10 rescue teams from China have arrived or are going to carry out rescue operations in the country.
