(ECNS) -- Ten primary students from Xihu District in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, leading to a four-day school suspension of the class they are in, said the district’s education authorities on Monday.
According to the notice issued by Xihu District Education Bureau, it had reported the ten confirmed cases to local disease control department and made the decision of a four-day suspension of class from Monday to Thursday to prevent the spread of the virus.
The 10 students have never been infected with COVID-19 before and they are in good mental state. They can return to school on Thursday after they test negative and have no physical discomfort.
China News Service reporters have confirmed that a junior high school in Gongshu District has also found some COVID-19 cases, most of whom have never been infected before.
Some parents worry about a new COVID-19 wave is on the way.
A person in charge of the school in Xihu District said that the school has made follow-up arrangements to battle with the disease and parents should not panic.
Sporadic cases could be normal after China downgraded the disease to Class-B management, he said.
