(ECNS) -- The revised draft of China's anti-espionage law will be submitted to the second session of the 14th National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) for deliberation.
Zang Tiewei, spokesperson for the Legislative Affairs Commission of the NPCSC, stated Friday the main changes to be made in the third edition of the revised draft include:
First, optimizing provisions on cyber espionage. Based on the features of information network, cyberattacks, intrusion, interference, control, and sabotage by espionage organizations and their agents against state organs, secret-related units or key information infrastructure will be classified as espionage.
Second, balancing empowerment and restriction of power, and increasing relief procedures. If the cybersecurity risks or information involving espionage have been eliminated after taking measures, relevant departments shall make the decision to resume information transmission and provide related services in time.
