(ECNS) -- China's first domestically-made cruise ship has started preparation to undock on June 6.
With a length of 323.6 meters and a width of 37.2 meters, the ship has a total of 25 million parts and 2,826 cabins, including 2,125 guest rooms and 701 crew rooms, covering an area of 34,600 square meters. It can accommodate 5,246 passengers.
The 16-storey living area is known as a mobile "modern city at sea" with many leisure facilities like theaters, restaurants, shopping centers, galleries and water parks.
Construction of the ship began in 2019 and the construction team has made breakthroughs in three core technologies that span its entire life, involving weight control, vibration and noise reduction and port safety.
Large cruise ships represent a country's equipment manufacturing capacity and comprehensive scientific and technological level.
Due to challenges in their design and building, large cruise ships, together with large LNG and aircraft carriers, are regarded as the "three pearls in the crown" of shipbuilding industry.
