(ECNS) -- The inauguration ceremony of the National History Museum of China was held in Beijing on Monday, marking the official opening of the country’s only state-level comprehensive natural museum.
Covering an area of 200 thousand square meters, the museum is used for protecting, collecting and studying valuable natural heritage.
At present, there are more than 370,000 collections in the museum, and the number of rare specimen ranks first among the same kind of museums in China. What’s more, it has published over ten papers in international academic journals Nature and Science.
The museum holds temporary exhibitions and exhibition tours with different themes every year and science population and education activities organized by it such as “Night at the Museum” have become well-known brands in China.
