(ECNS) -- Qatar and the United Arab Emirates' reopened embassies to each other on Monday after the two countries agreed to restore diplomatic ties, Agence France-Presse quoted Qatar's foreign ministry as saying.
The Qatari embassy in Abu Dhabi and a Qatari consulate in Dubai as well as an Emirati embassy in Doha had resumed operations, said the two countries in their statements.
Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt severed all ties with Qatar over accusations that it supported terrorism and demolished regional safety in 2017.
2021a Saudi-led deal to end the feud, and Saudi Arabia and Egypt were the first to reappoint ambassadors to Qatar in the same year.
The UAE resumed exchanges in economy, trade, and personnel with Qatar in 2021, but it said it still needs a long time to restore bilateral diplomatic relations with Qatar. Since 2021, high-level visits between Qatar and the UAE have become increasingly frequent.
