(ECNS)-- Three backpackers who were lost in mountain areas in Jiande City, Zhejiang Province, were successfully rescued within 26 minutes by a local helicopter on Sunday.
The place where they were trapped is in Lvhetang area, which lies 750 meters above sea level, and features high terrain and steep mountains. The journey from the foot of the mountain to its top is about 4 hours.
Considering the environment, weather, and use of rescue equipment, local emergency management bureau and police decided to conduct an aerial operation.
The Jiande aviation rescue base is one of the five bases of standby stations for aviation emergency rescue operations in Zhejiang, with response time within 30 minutes and a radius of 50 kilometers.
