(ECNS) -- Ten iris recognition passages for customs clearance were put into trial use in Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Monday.
The hands-free technology scans irises to determine personal identity. It is more hygienic. Meanwhile, it helps solve the problem that some people fail to use self-service customs clearance because their fingerprints are unclear, which greatly improves the security and efficiency.
The test run of iris recognition passages will last until Aug. 25.
