(ECNS) -- An explosion at a laboratory of the National Taiwan University on Thursday caused two students to be seriously burned and seven slightly injured for inhaling smoke, Taiwan media outlet China Times reported.
According to another local media outlet Taiwan Times, the incident happened when students were doing an experiment on Thursday noon. Police said that an initial report showed that aluminum chloride ignited after it came in contact with heated oil during an experiment.
A total of 91 firefighters and medical crew have rushed to the spot. The injured have been sent to hospitals for treatment, the reports said.
