(ECNS) -- The Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou railway, China's first private-public partnership (PPP) funded high-speed railway, celebrated its second anniversary of operation on Monday, having handled more than 20 million passenger trips.
The number of trains operating on this line has increased from 35 pairs per day in the early days to 59 pairs at present, with 60 pairs during peak seasons.
It has delivered a total of 20 million passengers since it started operation, including 15 million passengers trips in 2023, an increase of 200 percent over 2022.
The Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou railway line links nearly 10 national tourist attractions with the highest 5A-level ratings and more than 30 national 4A-level tourist attractions.
It effectively stimulated the development of tourism economy along the line, Zhu Shibei, deputy director of railway Institute of Zhejiang Development Planning, said.
