Same River, Shared Future. The "Lancang-Mekong Impression" Short Video Contest, organized by China News Service (CNS) to celebrate the eighth anniversary of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation, was officially launched on April 24.
The Lancang-Mekong River, which flows through China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, has nurtured distinctive yet similar cultures along its banks. It boasts magnificent natural scenery, countless scenic spots, rich ethnic customs, and touching stories that span over a thousand years, providing a treasure trove for short video creators.
Over the past eight years since the establishment of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation mechanism, the six countries along its banks have continued to promote the building of a community with a shared future for peace and prosperity, which has become the most dynamic "golden model" of regional cooperation with huge development potential.
The "Lancang-Mekong Impression" Short Video Contest takes the stage amid the booming development of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation. In 2022, the inaugural Short Video Contest was successfully held, attracting wide participation from Chinese and foreign short video creators, prominent short video platforms, MCN organizations, universities and social groups across participating countries.
The contest received nearly 3,000 entries from home and abroad, awarding 8 prize-winning works and more than 50 excellent works. The prize-winning works can be seen on the web page of China News Service, showcasing the charm and vitality of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation.
This year contestants are encouraged to capture the diversified natural and cultural landscapes on both sides of the Lancang-Mekong River, tell "Lancang-Mekong stories" through the lens, act as "messengers" of cultural exchange, and convey the sincere friendship of participant countries as one family."
A submission system has been set up for the contest (https://actshow.chinanews.com/lmvideo2024/user/login), where participants can log in to submit their original works. The contest will close at the end of September 2024. The organizer will select prize-winning works and award them.
