(ECNS) -- Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry said at the Paris Media Centre on Thursday that he is looking forward to playing against "whoever is in the gold-medal game."
The 36-year-old Curry, a four-time NBA champion and two-time MVP, will play in his first Olympics in Paris 2024 and expressed his expectations for the Games.
“I've been imagining what that feels like, forever really. It’s my first time,” Curry said. “So, you imagine the excitement of representing your country, being a part of the opening ceremony festivities.”
Another NBA star -- Phoenix Suns’ Kevin Durant -- is a three-time Olympic gold medalist. Having injured his calf before the Paris Olympics, he responded to public concern saying “Each day has been better than the last,” adding that he looks forward to playing against excellent rivals at the Games.
"It's just been cool being around all of these great players and seeing them in a different element outside just being competitors,” Durant commented.
With the opening ceremony around the corner, Durant feels proud to help his county "go to another level."
