Adams made the remarks in response to questioning of Chinese swimmer Pan Zhanle's record-breaking triumph in the 100m freestyle final at Paris 2024 Olympics.
There have been “600 and something tests routinely since January. So they are fully tested,” the spokesperson added.
The biased and unfair questioning has sparked outrage on Chinese social media platform Weibo.
A Weibo user named "Didi Beautiful Departure" (Didi Meihao Chufa) said Pan is a world champion with integrity and honor.
A Weibo user named Momo Dayemao commented that Chinese athletes have always been targeted, smeared, and some people have been spreading misinformation.
