(ECNS) -- China’s National Security Ministry on Monday made public photos of three Anonymous 64 hackers, backed by "Taiwan independence" forces, pending further investigations.
The three suspects are Luo Junming, Hong Liqi, and Liao Weilun, according to the ministry's official Wechat account.
Since the beginning of this year, Anonymous 64, set up in June 2023, has launched frequent cyberattacks against the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions, seeking to upload and broadcast "content that denigrates the mainland's political system and major policies," on websites, outdoor screens, and network TV stations.
It has released over 70 posts, targeting at outdoor electronic screens, vending machines and network TV and other network devices, as well as portals such as news media, airlines and universities and colleges, according to the National Security Ministry.
