(ECNS) -- China's annual production of new energy vehicles (NEVs) exceeded 10 million units for the first time, making it the first country in the world to reach this milestone, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, on Thursday.
Data shows that China's NEV production was just 18,000 units in 2013. By 2018, this figure rose to 1 million and reached 5 million by 2022.
Experts predict that production could exceed 12 million units by the end of the year.
