(ECNS) -- China has decided to extend the visa-free policy to nine more countries until the end of 2025, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said Friday.

To promote exchanges between Chinese and foreign nationals, China has decided to extend the visa-free policy to Dec. 31, 2025, for citizens of Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, and Japan starting from November 30, 2024, according to the Ministry.

It has decided to enlarge the scope of visa exemption to exchange visits, which will be extended to 30 days staying in China from the current 15 days.

Starting from November 30, 2024, citizens with valid ordinary passports from 38 countries, including the above nine, will be allowed to enter and stay in China visa-free for up to 30 days for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchange visits, and transit, it said.
