(ECNS) -- Flight number PN6425 operated by West Air departed from Lhasa Gonggar International Airport in Xizang Autonomous Region on Wednesday for Singapore's Changi Airport, marking the opening of a new China-Singapore route.
This is the second international route launched from the airport, following the Lhasa-Kathmandu route.
Round-trip flights between Lhasa and Singapore will operate three times per week, transiting via southwestern China’s Chongqing.
"We encourage related departments of all levels in Xizang to create a good business environment and issue more supporting and consistent policies for businesses, turning the Lhasa-Chongqing-Singapore route into one of friendship, cooperation, and development,” said Xizang Autonomous Region Vice Chairman Wei Xiuchang.
In November 2023, a government delegation from Xizang visited Singapore, hoping to strengthen people-to-people exchanges with the country and make contributions to cultural exchanges and mutual understanding between China and Singapore.
