(ECNS) -- The first shipment of Australian lobsters in four years arrived at the Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province on Saturday following the lifting of a ban on live rock lobster imports, according to the airline.

Live rock lobsters from Australia, known for their exceptional quality and high nutritional value, were once a star product in China's seafood market. In 2019, the lobster exports to China were valued at over AUD700 million ($527 million),accounting for 97percent of Australia's lobster exports.

This resumption will allow Chinese consumers to enjoy Australian lobsters just in time for New Year celebrations. China Southern Airlines will continue to enhance its supply chain management and logistics to provide Chinese consumers with more of the freshest and best high-quality products.
