(ECNS) -- Chinese tennis player Zheng Qinwen has donated 1 million yuan (about $136.40 thousand) to quake-hit Xigaze in Xizang Autonomous Region to support local disaster relief efforts, China Foundation for Rural Development announced Wednesday via its Weibo account.
The foundation thanked Zheng for her donation, saying that the money would be used for emergency rescue and relocation of residents affected by the earthquake.
A total of 126 people have been confirmed dead and 188 others injured after a 6.8-magnitude earthquake jolted Xizang on Tuesday morning.
