Knowledge or "Nice to meet you"
Not all the students refuse to attend the classes, but the purposes for sitting in the classroom vary.
"Some students in my class come to school for every class, but they told me that they are not here for knowledge," said Wu. "By attending these classes that are targeted to children of other successful businessmen in the country, some students hope to expand their circle of friends," added Wu.
"I do not want to blame them for expanding their circle. It may bring them benefits in the future, but I hope they do not attach too much attention to this instead of focusing on their studies," said Wu.
Not satisfied, but still hopeful
For a long time, these young people have been under intensive attention. Some of those who are not mature enough have made some serious mistakes, like causing car accidents or punching people in public, but most of them still have a future.
"If all these kids are as mature as their parents and as humble as what others expect them to be, they would not be kids," said Dai Ming, professor from the Shanghai Jiaotong University, "We cannot blame all the faults on the kids."
"Some of them are the only child in their family and their parents, in order to provide them a better living environment, consciously spoiled them, making some of them very rude and arrogant," said Wu "But since joining the training class, some have been willing to communicate and improve themselves."
"The society still needs to be tolerant to most of them and help them grow up," said Dai. The school where Wu stays is considering opening a new class which will help these kids to speak out. By learning new communication techniques, they can improve a little bit.
