Another side of Mu
Outgoing, talkative and kind may be words used to describe Mu, but he has another identity that few people know of – he was a soldier.
After graduating from university, he joined the Egyptian infantry in May of 2010 and served in the army for one year. "Before I became an infantry soldier, I should admit that I was an epicurean who liked to drink coffee and go boating with friends, but life in the military changed me in some sense," said Mu.
On January 25, 2011, a protest of millions of people against the Egyptian regime took place in Cairo. Mu witnessed the event and was moved by the protesters. Before then, he had not cared much about politics in his country.
"Though Egypt is still changing, I believe that one day the country will usher in a much brighter future," said Mu. "Maybe our generation lives in a turbulent time, but I hope the future generations will have a better life."
