Xu Guangda and his wife Ma Hui have completed their self-driving tour of 34 countries with their 7-year-old daughter in the past five years.
In order to realize his dream of cycling to Tibet, Xu, 36, quit his job in a State-owned enterprise in Qitaihe, Heilongjiang Province, in 2011.
"At the beginning, I couldn't back him, I was unable to stop him because he was so determined to begin his tour," said Ma. "After starting his tour, he would send me photos every day and let me know everything was fine."

Gradually, the beautiful sceneries Xu captured made Ma yearn for travelling.
Therefore, Ma also quit her job as a civil servant in 2013 and they decided to travel around the world.
They bought a second-hand mobile home and began to modify it themselves.
After completing the full preparations for the trip, they began in September 2013.

In the next five years, they travelled to almost every corner in China and visited 34 countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, Switzerland, Germany and Morocco.
"We didn't have much money and we earned some money from those who hitched a ride on our car on the way," Ma said. "And in order to save money, we usually cooked food ourselves."

In June 2017, the couple welcomed a new member. Their son was born during the trip.
The family took a break from their tour and chose Hangzhou as their foothold.
"In September, my daughter will attend primary school and she has been selected by a private primary school in Hangzhou," she said. "We don't know when we will continue the next trip, but we plan to drive to Americas. We want to get to every corner our car can reach."
