Fishing season has opened on Yeya Lake in Yanqing, Beijing's northwestern district, with villagers catching the first haul of fish in celebration of the upcoming Spring Festival.
On the 1,300-hectare lake of Heimuwa village, fishermen are out trying to catch fish. Liu Changhai, who caught almost 300 kilos of fish in significant haul, said he is excited for the harvest. "As the holidays are approaching, more restaurants and hotels nearby come to buy fish. Business is good."
