The midsummer rain brings a spectacular sunset view in the middle section of the Gansu Hexi Corridor in Northwest China's Gansu Province. In Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological Park the colorful hills of Qilian Mountain look like oil paintings, attracting more than 10,000 tourists from home and abroad everyday.
Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological Park is in Linze and Sunan counties, 40 kilometers from downtown Zhangye. The park features steep cliffs, many of them several hundred meters high. Their colors are changeable, due to the reaction of minerals in the rock to different intensities of light.
