President Xi Jinping announced the official opening of Beijing Daxing International Airport on Wednesday morning.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended the operation ceremony of the airport.
The new mega-airport opened on Wednesday, welcoming its first passengers after five years of construction.
