A light show held to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China illuminated the Badaling section of the Great Wall in the capital's northwestern Yanqing district on Saturday night. China will celebrate the anniversary on Oct 1.
More than 600 lights along with a 340-meter-long light red carpet dressed the Great Wall like a golden dragon at night. Some old gate towers were also lit up.
The light show will run through the National Day holiday from Oct. 1 to Oct. 7 each night.
The park of the International Horticultural Exhibition in Yanqing will also hold light shows during the National Day holiday.
